One day per week during term, Flight One School of Engineering runs an industry-approved & government funded aircraft mechanic course for high school students. Thinking of Becoming An Aircraft Mechanic?

A career in aircraft engineering can take you across the world, working on everything from light, training, recreation, and sport aircraft to large airliners, transporters, helicopters or private jets.

Supported by industry leaders including Airbus & Boeing, our 1 day per week aircraft engineering fundamentals programme teaches you the basics to make you a leading candidate to transition into aircraft engineering – either through further study or an apprenticeship.

What will I Learn?

Basic engineering theory, workplace hand skills and occupational health and safety, basic aviation theory and principles of flight, practical workshops to learn about mechanical and electrical components, hydraulics, pneumatics.

How is it delivered?

Course is delivered 1 day per week across a 12 month school calendar – held at our Adelaide Airport engineering workshop.

Entry Criteria & Eligibility

Must be enrolled in year 11 or 12 in a participating high school at the time of commencement. Note: Additional criteria apply, and students must have attended the ‘Come and Try’ day to be eligible for state funding.
